ā€œTrain up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.ā€  Proverbs 22:6

These words penned by king Solomon, one of the wisest men to ever live, ring just as true today as they did when he was inspired to write them. Children start to form a worldview by age 2, develop their moral compass by age 9, and usually have a fully formed worldview by age 13. Our worldview is formed by the people closest to us and the culture we live in. As Christians, it is our goal to bring up our children with a Biblical worldview, teaching them what God says about our world, our relationship to it, and our relationship to Him. If we are not intentional about discipling our children in a Biblical worldview, our society and culture will become their default worldview.

At FVCC, we put an emphasis on training children in the saving faith of Jesus Christ and equipping parents to disciple their children at home. We do this through Sunday morning children’s worship, a 12 week children’s discipleship course called Ready, Set, Grow, offered every spring and fall, a mid-week Awana program, as well as various family events and service opportunities. Details about each can be found in the picture links below.
